Reaction to video

The first thing that struck me about the video was how much the Cold War played into the creation and development of the Internet. It’s actually amazing, when looking over the course of history, how much was actually developed in our eternal struggle against the Soviets to the point where it was almost beneficial to the country to do to have participated in a war with seemingly few real life conflicts. The fact that Sputnik caused such a great uproar in the American government and forced our legislature to millions of dollars of defense research that eventually led to the creation of the Internet is truly phenomenal.

As a couple people have already mentioned, it was very interesting seeing the evolution of the Internet and wild to think that you used to only be able to do one thing at a time on the computer instead of the dozen things we do on our laptops today.

Our predecessors made it possible to do many of the things that we not only enjoy every single day, but many of which have become necessities for our everyday functions.
